Required Courses for Vietnamese/Thai/Indonesian Section (applied from 2021 fall semester)

One credit equals one hour (two hours for conversation and listening courses) per week.

Every course is required to fulfill 18 weeks per semester.

 

Vietnamese/Thai/Indonesian Language (30 credits)

First Year (12 credits):

  • Basic Vietnamese/Thai/Indonesian (4 credits / 2 semesters)
  • Basic Vietnamese/Thai/Indonesian Conversation (4 credits / 2 semesters)
  • Basic Vietnamese/Thai/Indonesian Grammar (4 credits / 2 semesters)

 

Second Year (11 credits):

  • Intermediate Vietnamese/Thai/Indonesian (4 credits / 2 semesters)
  • Intermediate Vietnamese/Thai/Indonesian Conversation (4 credits / 2 semesters)
  • Vietnamese/Thai/Indonesian Writing (2 credits / 1 semester)
  • Listening in Vietnamese/Thai/Indonesian I (1 credits / 1 semester)

 

Third Year (7 credits)

  • Listening in Vietnamese/Thai/Indonesian II (1 credits / 1 semester)
  • Advanced Vietnamese/Thai/Indonesian (4 credits / 2 semesters)
  • Advanced Vietnamese/Thai/Indonesian Conversation (2 credits / 2 semesters)

 

Advanced Vietnamese/Thai/Indonesian (3 of 6 courses, 6 credits)

  • Advanced Vietnamese/Thai/Indonesian: Business (2 credits / 1 semester)
  • Advanced Vietnamese/Thai/Indonesian: Politics and Diplomacy (2 credits / 1 semester)
  • Advanced Vietnamese/Thai/Indonesian: Literature (2 credits / 1 semester)
  • Vietnamese/Thai/Indonesian Applied Writing (2 credits / 1 semester)
  • Vietnamese/Thai/Indonesian Translation (2 credits / 1 semester)
  • Vietnamese/Thai/Indonesian Interpretation (2 credits / 1 semester)

 

Second SEA Languages (1 of 2 courses, 6 credits)

  • Basic Vietnamese/Thai/Indonesian (6 credits / 2 semester)

 

Southeast Asian Humanities and Social Sciences (3 of 9 courses, 9 credits)

  • English Speaking and Writing in Southeast Asian Context I (3 credits / 1 semester)
  • English Speaking and Writing in Southeast Asian Context II (3 credits / 1 semester)
  • The Current Situation of Ethnic Group in Southeast Asia (3 credits / 1 semester)
  • Histories and Cultures of Southeast Asia (3 credits / 1 semester)
