Biography
Phuong Nguyen Hoang was born in Binh Duong province, Vietnam on December 21, 1981. He received BA degrees (Russian Language and Literature, English Language and Literature) at Hochiminh City University of Pedagogy in Vietnam in 2004; (International Business Administration) at Foreign Trade University, Hochiminh City in Vietnam in 2013. He received MA degree (Linguistics) at University of Social Sciences and Humanity, Vietnam National University- Hochiminh City in Vietnam in 2008. Finally, he received a Ph.D. degree (Contrastive Linguistics) at University of Social Sciences and Humanity, Vietnam National University- Hochiminh City in Vietnam in 2016.
He has been teaching for 20 years in many big universities in Vietnam and has been visiting lecturer in Chungwoon University, Korea. He has been a full-time lecturer in Faculty of Vietnamese Studies, University of Social Sciences and Humanities, Vietnam National University – Hochiminh City, Vietnam since 2016. Since 2021, he has been working as a Vice Dean of the Faculty of Vietnamese Studies. His majors are contrastive linguistics, cognitive linguistics, English, and Vietnamese for foreigners. He has published many scientific works in international journals on contrastive linguistics, cognitive linguistics and language teaching for foreigners. He has given presentations of many papers in many international linguistics conferences in India, Srilanka, Thailand, Taiwan, Korea and Vietnam. He is currently interested in researching Vietnamese linguistics, Vietnamese language teaching for foreigners, compiling textbooks on Vietnamese for foreigners.
