印尼巴厘島木雕藝術家馬爹將向參與者介紹神聖的獅子巴龍:巴厘島的神話動物,以其獨特面具而聞名,並常見於儀式中。本工作坊將深入了解這種獅子般生物的製作過程和儀式用途。此外,參與者可以製作自己的巴龍面具,並將其作為紀念品帶回家。
Indonesian woodcarving artist I Made Sukariawan, born and raised on the island of Bali, will introduce his audience to the sacred Barong Kèt: a Balinese mythological animal known for its peculiar mask and used during rituals. This workshop provides insight into the production process and ritual use of the leonine creature. Furthermore, it gives participants the chance to make their own colourful version of the Barong mask, which can be brought home as a souvenir.

Background of the instructor:
馬爹在印尼巴厘島成長,從小就學習木雕藝術。他在旅遊業(Club Med)工作了十多年,與妻子林芳女士一起遊歷東南亞的多個地方。馬爹目前居住在台灣南部的高雄市,經營自己的雕刻工作室。
I Made Sukariawan grew up on the island of Bali, Indonesia, where he learnt the art of wood carving from a very young age onwards. He worked, for over a decade, in the tourism industry (Club Med) and travelled many parts of Southeast Asia together with his Taiwanese wife Mrs Ling Fang. Pak Made is currently based in the Southern Taiwanese town Kaohsiung where he runs his own carving studio.
